4. Attention Students Do you want a free college education and job afterwards? Then consider a free Associate’s Degree in Electronic Engineering Technology. Upon completion of the degree, you would begin a career with a world-class corporation right here in the Lexington community at a starting salary above the national average. A representative from Michelin will be at LTC on Monday, February 11 th to talk with students from all Lexington One high schools interested in the Michelin Scholars Program. 7. GHS Boys Golf Team The GHS JV and Varsity golf tryouts will be held beginning January 30th at the Country Club of Lexington on Barr Rd. at 4PM. Please see Ms. Keisler in the athletic office after 12:30PM for a tryout information packet. You must have a physical on file to try out. Bring the completed paperwork with you on the first day. Signup ended on January 25.

8. GHS Baseball Tryouts Varsity Baseball Tryouts will began yesterday, and Junior Varsity / B-Team tryouts will begin Thursday, February 7. Tryouts will be from 3:45-5:30/6:00 at GHS Baseball Field.

9. GHS Track Varsity track will began yesterday. You must have a current physical and parent consent form on file with Coach Millwood. If you have any questions, see Deana Keisler in the athletic office.

10. Lady Indian Softball Softball started yesterday at Gilbert High School's softball field. We will be practicing each day this week from 3:45 until 5:45. Any girls in grades 7 thru 12 are welcome. You must have a physical on file in the GHS training room or bring it with you on the 28th. If you are involved in basketball, you are excused from softball until your season is over.

Create IT Discovery Day This day gives suudents the opportunity to explore careers in information technology This is a High-energy day planned for high school students for Saturday, March 2, 2013 in Columbia, SC, 12:30 – 5:00 pm at IT-ology. 13. Attention all Girls Soccer Prospects: Tryouts will be held at Gilbert Middle School field this week on January 28,29,30th. All paper work such as consent forms and physicals will need to be completed before you attend. Please see Coach Kelley in Room 314 or Coach Bui in room 213B if you have any questions. 14. Attention Gilbert Fans The Gilbert Athletic Booster Club will be at GHS during all three lunches on Wednesday, January 30 th, which is tomorrow. They will be selling their booster items and will also be taking orders for other items if interested. This would be a great time to purchase your spring sport Gilbert apparel or update your Gilbert wardrobe!

15. Attention Students… FCA, Fellowship of Christian Athletes, is sponsoring a free spaghetti dinner on Wednesday, January 30 th at GHS. Dinner will begin at 6:30pm. Join us for live music and to listen to the Football Chaplain from the University of South Carolina. Focus will be on One Way 2 Play – Drug Free for our students. Join us for food, fellowship and fun!

16. Congratulations to… ….Nathan Brazell, JP Moody, Austin Shealy, Mason Cox, and Chris Dyer all won Region Championship Wrestling this past Friday.

17. Miss GHS 2013 The Miss Gilbert High School Pageant will be held on March 23, 2013 at 7:00 PM in the GHS Little Theater. You may sign up NOW outside Mrs. Armstrong's door (Room 114). Sign-up will continue through February 11th. Please pick up a packet from the folder beside the sign-up sheet. If you have any questions feel free to stop by and see Mrs. Armstrong or e- mail her. All girls who sign up will be contacted through their school e-mail so make sure to look for those e-mails in the next few weeks!! The Student Council is very excited about this year's pageant. We will be offering a $250 scholarship to the winner of Miss GHS and 2-$50 scholarships to Miss Senior and Miss Junior. We hope that lots of girls will take advantage of this opportunity! Also, those not participating in the pageant make sure to mark your calendar to come out and see a night of "Sparkle"!!
