Come journey back in to the early days of our country. Blaze new trails with the Anderson family as they prepare to go west. Watch out for Indians! You never know when they might attack! 3 The Task Help the Anderson family pack their covered wagon for their trip out west. Don’t forget to pack everything they’ll need for the long trip. Help them reach their new home safely. 4 The Process First, you will be assigned to a family of 3 or 4 students, and together, you will be responsible for learning about pioneers moving to the west and fill out a K.W.L. worksheet.K.W.L. worksheet You will learn about them through examining specific web sites. Read with your group different articles on these web sites.specific web sites See the assigned family roles.family roles Once you’ve have examined the roles given to you, you will be given time to look over specific web sites for information needed for completing assigned tasks.assigned tasks You will then get together with your family and compile the family’s supplies needed for the trip. 5 Father Anderson-The pioneer men work very hard. Most of their work is out-of-doors. Mother Anderson-The pioneer mother is always busy. Their work is mostly indoors. Brother Anderson-Pioneer boys mostly help their fathers. Sister Anderson-Pioneer girls mostly help their mother indoors. Back to The Process Back to The Process

Mother Anderson- Your task is to gather all the supplies needed for cooking and sewing. Brother Anderson – Your task is to gather all the supplies needed for school.
