The Fine Arts Academy at GPHS & The Fine Arts Academy at Reagan Middle School combined New, exclusive school called The Grand Prairie Fine Arts Academy Opens August 2013 Focused 100% on advanced academics and arts education Includes 6th grade through 12th grade Building formerly the GPHS 9th Grade Center

7 FAA: Day to Day 6th - 8th Grade 8:45 AM to 3:55 PM College Readiness Academics Core & Arts Classes on the GPFAA campus only 9th - 12th Grade 7:35 AM to 2:45 PM College Readiness Academics Core at GPFAA Arts classes in Chambers, Band Hall & Art Facilities

8 GPISD Transportation District transportation will be offered to FAA students Must live outside a two mile radius of GPFAA Morning and afternoon pickups & drop-offs at neighborhood stops A 6:00 PM tutoring bus departs three times a week Tutoring bus picks up at GPFAA and returns students to neighborhood stops

10 School Identity & Staff The Grand Prairie Fine Arts Academy will have its own school colors and mascot Mascot ideas are open to student suggestion and will be finalized by the GPFAA principal Principal selection process is underway now, we expect to announce prior to Spring Break. Staffing will be determined by application and interview, beginning after Spring Break Current Fine Arts Academy strand directors are invited to teach at GPFAA

11 Competitive Future Our GPFAA goal is to be the premiere magnet school for arts education in DFW We have the directors, we have the talent - now we have the building! As an official school and brand, we can easily form partnerships within GP and beyond for scholarships and fundraising New ability to create strand booster clubs More time dedicated to academy student instruction

12 GPFAA by the Numbers 20 current GPFAA students will continue with the program 237 current RFAA students will continue with the program 199 new applicants have been accepted in grades 6-12 for 2013-2014 15 of these are not currently enrolled in GPISD Approximately 200 students will participate in the additional auditions due to increased building capacity
