2 Attention Summerdale Students: Show your Support, Team Sharp-Team Phelps. Support your former teachers who have been diagnosed with cancer and are undergoing treatment. T-shirts are on sale to raise money to help them during their trying time. The shirts are $16 and are pink and blue TieDye. Orders will be taken until Friday, October. Purchase yours today from Mrs. Champion in room 406.

3 The Help Desk is currently taking applications for tech assistants for 1st and 2nd semesters. If you are interested in being a tech assistant, stop by the Help Desk (room 306) and pick up an application.

4 The Chamber of Commerce is once again seeking students to participate in their Young Entrepreneurs Academy (YEA). The deadline to apply is TODAY. Students can pick up an application from Mrs. Lores or register online with the chamber. This is a WONDERFUL opportunity for students to learn what it takes to establish and manage their own businesses.

5 It is once again time for the Foley Theatre Company’s Fall Production…the 2 nd Annual Foley’s Follies and Silent Auction. Foley’s Follies is scheduled for October 21 st at 5:30 pm in the cafeteria. The show will begin at 6 pm with performances of this year’s students and their individual events in preparation for the Alter Trumbauer Theatre Festival.

6 The second portion of the show will be Sarah Ivey’s production of “The Lottery.” This is the story of a small town that holds a lottery each year to bring good luck to the town for the coming year. However, this is a lottery that no one really wants to win! Sarah is a senior in the Foley Theatre Company; she selected, auditioned and directed this show. There is no admission for the show—the money is made off the silent auction which begins at 5:30 before the show. So come out and support the Foley Theatre Company on Tuesday, Oct. 21.

7 Attention those students who have signed up for Poetry Out Loud: Please see Mrs. Cirilli in room 507 this week for important information. The school contest is scheduled for Wednesday, October 15 at 3:30 in the library.

8 Foley High School’s Blood Drive is coming soon! The Blood Drive is October 15 from 8 am to 2 pm in the training room. Students can sign up in homeroom or room 301. The requirements to donate are: ALL STUDENTS THIS YEAR MUST HAVE A CONSENT FORM—pick them up in room 301. Must have a photo ID.

9 All blood donors must signup by Friday. Everyone that donates will receive a free t-shirt. The two homerooms with the most community participation will receive a doughnut party. The individual donating must say they are donating for that homeroom when they register. Help give the gift of life—sign up today in Room 301.

10 Prom committee applications are available outside Mrs. Champion's room 406. These are due by Friday, October 17.

11 Did you know there was a new Wrestling team on campus? Are you interested in being a part of the team? If so, plan to attend an informational meeting with Coach Walker on Tuesday during all lunch waves in room 315.

12 Scholars' Bowl will meet in Mrs. Hill's room (408) immediately after school today.

13 Seniors it is time to apply for college! Now is the time to apply, not December or January. Remember, many colleges set December 1st as the deadline for the first wave of admissions and scholarships. If you need assistance, please see Mrs. Lores. H

14 Here is some information on various scholarships. Linly Heflin Scholarship- Open to girls ONLY who will attend a four-year Alabama college, MUST have a minimum ACT score of 23. Deadline to apply is January 9, 2015. Please visit www.linlyheflin.org to access the application.

16 The Young Entrepreneur Foundation is awarding a $1,000 to a senior who is entering college in the fall of 2015 and owns/operates an established business. The deadline to apply is December 18, 2014. Visit www.NFIB.com/YEA to apply.
