28 Food Portions: A Guide for Teens Part of healthy eating is knowing how big, or small, a serving size is. When reading Nutrition Facts Labels on packaging, or when planning meals, it is important to understand what a portion looks like. Using some simple visuals (including your own hand), you can better estimate the number of servings you are eating.
