1 The Importance of plants
By: Kyera Brown

2 Dedication Page I dedicate this book to my sister who loves flowers and is the sweetest thing she could ever be.

3 Plants are very important to our everyday life
Plants are very important to our everyday life. They do this thing called Photosynthesis. Photosynthesis makes food for the plants. Photosynthesis happens when hydrogen [from water] and carbon dioxide from the air join together using sunlight and the chlorophyll in the plants to form sugars and oxygen.

4 Respiration In respiration, which occurs in plants and animals, sugars and oxygen join to produce water, carbon dioxide, and energy.

5 Plants also give off oxygen
Plants also give off oxygen. Oxygen is the air we breathe in when we inhale air. They do this by taking in the carbon dioxide {the air that we exhale} and make it into oxygen. The oxygen is released into the air. The sugars that form are stored in green plants.

6 Another kind of plant that is important are trees
Another kind of plant that is important are trees. They give us most of our oxygen, especially trees in the rainforest. Trees are important because they can be be made into many new things like furniture and paper.

7 We need plants and trees for our oxygen so we can breathe
We need plants and trees for our oxygen so we can breathe. We need them to take in the carbon dioxide to help our air. We need them to help feed the world. I highly advise that you take care of the plants and trees.

8 Acknowledgements I want to thank Mrs. Garrett for helping me make this book, I also want to thank God for giving me a mind of my own!
