Climate Change: An Interdisciplinary Approach Part 2, 23 rd January 2013

Everyone in the world should be able to live as we do in Scotland... Disagree? Agree? Pupil Baseline

What will we do today? Continue our enquiry approach, exploring the effects and possible solutions to climate change Explore the variety of Es and Os that can be met Investigate some methods of assessing attitudinal change throughout the topic.

Key Questions - Why? How is Climate Change affecting the weather? Who is most affected by Climate Change and how? What are the effects of Climate Change on the environment? How do these changes in the weather and environment affect plants and animals? Could people, the environment, or plants/ animals benefit from Climate Change?

Key question: What can we do locally? What would be the key features of a sustainable community/society? How would we categorise the different areas for adaptation and mitigation? How can we reduce poverty? How can we reduce our energy use/ CO 2 emissions? How can we minimise the need for travel? How can we protect our ecosystem? How can we reduce our waste and consumption of resources?

What about food miles? What are the pros and cons of switching to renewable energies? What resources are required for developing renewable energy? Will new carbon free technologies be developed to slow Climate Change? Does increased tree cover soak up CO 2 ? Is the best solution to stop destroying rainforests? How can we reduce poverty? What is ‘sustainable development’? Key question: What can we do globally?
