Purpose of our Review It shows us what we have learned May point out things that we missed the first time Will assist us in our Jeopardy review game

1 st Week- Slavery and Civil War 1861-1865 (time of the Civil War) Was fought between the North and the South The North was known as the Union The South was known as the Confederates There were boarder states in between (review which states belonged where)

1 st Week Continued Indentured Servants- worked off their debt for a period of time; debt came from their “boss” paying for their transportation to the United States. Who were indentured servants? What role did Abraham Lincoln and Jefferson Davis play?

2 nd Week- Famous People Robert E. Lee Harriet Tubman Harriet Beecher Stowe Abraham Lincoln Jefferson Davis Ulysses S. Grant Commander of Confederate Army Led slaves to freedom-U.R.R Wrote Uncle Tom’s Cabin President of Union- Emancipation Proclamation Leader of Confederacy Commander of Union Army

2 nd Week- Star Unit Constellations- internationally known group of stars that have been named, made up of asterisms. Asterisms- grouping of stars that are recognized in the sky. What do different color stars tell us? Follow the Drinking Gourd Name some constellations

3 rd Week- Poetry What is poetry? What do we know about poetry? Examples of poetry Does it always rhyme? How long are poems? Can songs be poems? Nonsense words, context clues, & stanzas.

3 rd Week- Jabberwocky What does dissecting a poem mean? What did we do to the poem to help us better understand it? How should you read a poem? Do poems have to make sense? Central theme, characters, and grammar.

4 th Week- Acting out Poems What three things did we keep in mind, or assign as tasks, for the poem presentation. Name things that worked well and did not work well with our presentations. Name types of costumes that you created.

4 th Week Physical Maps Parts of a map: Compass rose Scale Title Key How to represent: Elevation Major cities Rivers Mountains What did we make our physical maps out of? Ratio-2-2-1

Jeopardy Rules: 5 teams Each team will answer every question After a question is asked, your team has 30-60 seconds (depending on length of answer) to write down your response. Each team will get turns to choose the categories. Class celebration at the end!
