3 Informing solutions together Profiling IDP situations is a collaborative process that serves to obtain an overview of an IDP situation. This overview provides governments, humanitarian and development actors with information crucial for: Targeted and effective response Policy or strategy development Improved advocacy Strengthened fundraising What is profiling in IDP situations?

4 Informing solutions together At minimum: ‘Core data’ - numbers disaggregated by sex, age and location (Article 24, UN Human Rights Council Resolution, A/HRC/20/L.14 ) In addition (depends on knowledge gap): Causes and patterns of displacement Conditions during displacement - humanitarian/protection Future intentions for durable solutions What information does it provide?
