14 © 2002 Copyright John Kaman & Associates coachjk@earthlink.net Opened Ended vs Closed Questions… Open Ended typically begin with: What, When, Where, How… etc. Closed Questions typically begin with: Do, Can, Will…etc.

Asking open ended questions causes them to think for themselves. Coaching questions compel attention for an answer, focuses attention for precision and creates a feedback loop. (it is not about you, it is about the other person).  Learn to trust your intuition.  Project Management is a team effort so use “we”, or the “team”, not “I”.
