Place Value Thousands, Ten Thousands, and Hundred Thousands

Lets Review the place value positions you should already be familiar with: Ones, Tens, and Hundreds. We would need 10 hundred slabs to equal 1 Thousands cube 10 hundreds = 1 Thousands We use a comma to separate groups of 3 numbers!, OnesTens HundredsThousands Comma 1 10100 1,000 Now, lets take a look at the next three place value positions. First we have the Thousands position.

Finally, there is the HUNDRED THOUSANDS position. Decimal Place Value Tenths, Hundredths, Thousandths

Now lets look at the first three place values after the decimal point. If we divided 1 unit into 10 equal pieces we create tenths. 10 tenths = 1 ones All decimal place values end in “ths”.. TenthsOnes Decimal Point.1 1 First we have the Tenths position.
