Q.How large is NAEPC? A. NAEPC currently boasts nearly 260 affiliated local councils with over 29,000 members of those affiliates nationwide. In addition, there are 1,800+ AEP® designees in the U.S.

No, the council is a member of NAEPC and by virtue of the council maintaining its membership, the members have access to benefits, programs and services offered by NAEPC.

NAEPC produces the NAEPC Journal of Estate & Tax Planning (online), NAEPC News (email for council members enrolled in the Every Council Campaign) and the NAEPC Monthly Minute (email for council leaders).

The Annual Conference takes place in November each year and offers one day of affiliated local council leadership development, as well as two full days of continuing education programming for estate planning-related disciplines.

A.The online list is sorted into software, educational offerings, subscriptions/publications, marketing services, discipline-specific offerings as well as other opportunities.

A.The Every Council Campaign is the program that allows NAEPC to email your membership the publication NAEPC News directly up to six times per year. Your members will learn about the programs they can take advantage of without any extra effort by the council!

45 The Association of Choice for Estate Planning Professionals Blurbs, continued… Q.What is the Accredited Estate Planner designation? A. The Accredited Estate Planner® (AEP®) designation is a graduate level accreditation in estate planning obtained in addition to already recognized professional credentials within the various disciplines that make up estate planning: attorneys, accountants, insurance and financial planners and trust officers. The only multi- disciplinary designation in estate planning, it is awarded to estate planning professionals who meet special requirements of education, experience, knowledge, professional reputation, and character.

46 The Association of Choice for Estate Planning Professionals Blurbs, continued… Q.What is the Council Nominated AEP® program? A. As an affiliated local council, you hold the special honor of nominating eligible candidates for the AEP® designation! The council must submit a board of director’s resolution signed by the president and one additional council officer. Councils are permitted to nominate one (1) candidate in each discipline plus one (1) in any of the four (4) disciplines for councils with less than 100 members and two (2) candidates in each discipline plus two (2) additional in any of the four disciplines for councils with more than 100 members. The application fee for council-nominated AEP® designation candidates is 50% of the regular application fee and must be accompanied by yearly annual dues at the time of application.

A.Referral lists, sample organizational documents, council checklists and guides, website programs at greatly reduced fees, Leimberg LISI service… just to name a few!

A.Councils must enroll every member of their council at a per member/per year fee. Members can then access the Leimberg website at their leisure throughout the entire year!

49 The Association of Choice for Estate Planning Professionals Blurbs, continued… Q.Can council members enroll in the Leimberg LISI service on an individual basis at the NAEPC price? A.No, if your council is not participating in the program a member must enroll directly with the LISI service. A council discount cannot be offered.

The NAEPC Education Foundation was formed in 2005 with a primary mission of public and professional education. Its main activity is to assist the affiliated local councils host a local estate planning day in their community.
