3 1.GLOCO’s acquisition of companies has resulted in an IT infrastructure that is maintaining multiple independent systems. 2.There are duplicate applications and services. 3.Employees currently must access multiple portals to perform their work. 4.GLOCO needs to provide a single access point to reduce costs and improve employee productivity. Problem Statement

4 Business Requirements 4 ISMT E-200 Trends in Enterprise Information Systems 1.All GLOCO applications will be accessible through a single place, the portal 2.A single login will reduce the number of user ids and passwords 3.A user-configurable interface will present applications to user groups 4.Blogs, wikis and RSS feeds will provide employees with social- networking capabilities. 5.A Travel Search application, email and Order Management System will be accessible on the portal.

5 Scope 5 ISMT E-200 Trends in Enterprise Information Systems The implementation of the portal will include the following: 1.Implementation of the Oracle WebCenter Suite User configuration Security Configuration 2.Configuration of WebCenter Services and WebCenter Spaces 3.Portalization of GLOCO applications currently in use, such as Order Management System Travel Search application Microsoft Outlook Timecard System, etc. 4.Training materials designed for the end user community.

10 Risk and Mitigation Risk 1: The owners of legacy applications may have a difficult time accepting the perceived loss of their applications Mitigation: The applications need to be manage by the same group that managed them before Risk 2: Managing change is a crucial part of any transition Mitigation: A training program on portal use will be instituted prior to, during, and after implementation to ease the users transition 10 ISMT E-200 Trends in Enterprise Information Systems

11 Risk and Mitigation Risk 3: Delay in the response from the applications via WebCenter Mitigation: Move applications and databases into corporate datacenter. And, use AJAX (or similar technologies) in application development Risk 4: Security on the portal is a major concern Mitigation: WebCenter’s robust security model mitigates the security risk Risk 5: Delays by either GLOCO or A2TI could affect the timeline Mitigation: Weekly meetings will enable the team to monitor progress and communicate concerns 11 ISMT E-200 Trends in Enterprise Information Systems

18 Success Metrics 18 ISMT E-200 Trends in Enterprise Information Systems The introduction of portal will provide measurable benefits to GLOCO. 1.Applications will see a 100% adoption rate in the first year (assumption: all other access to migrated applications is removed) By tracking user visits to each page Web Center Analytics helps determine portal adoption application use collaboration rates 2.Decrease in overall operation cost Number of application can be consolidated Timesheet Email Eventual reduction of IT support
