What is there before the “therefore” in your life? Building a Gospel Worldview:
3
Building a Gospel Worldview Romans 12:1-2 1 Therefore, I urge you, brothers, in view of God's mercy, to offer your bodies as living sacrifices, holy and pleasing to God—this is your spiritual act of worship. 2 Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind.

Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world… Worldview is the overall perspective from which one sees & interprets the world. Most people simply receive the worldview they’ve been handed. This will generally be determined by… When & where you are born. “Where there’s a will, there’s a way.” God helps those who help themselves.” “From rags to riches…” “What goes around comes around.” “There are two things we don’t talk about, religion & politics.” The life experiences you have.
6
The Gospel …in view of God’s mercy… Romans 12:1 …Christ died for our sins… 1 Corinthians 15:3
7
The Gospel 1 Corinthians 15:3 – For I delivered to you as of first importance what I also received: that Christ died for our sins in accordance with the Scriptures, that he was buried, that he was raised on the third day in accordance with the Scriptures… “The Bible’s purpose is not so much to show you how to live a good life. The Bible’s purpose is to show you how God’s grace breaks into your life against your will and saves you from the sin and brokenness otherwise you would never be able to overcome… religion is ‘if you obey, then you will be accepted’. But the Gospel is, ‘if you are absolutely accepted, and sure you’re accepted, only then will you ever begin to obey’. Those are two utterly different things. Every page of the Bible shows the difference.” –Tim Keller, pastor in New York City & author

Gospel Truths flowing from the Gospel Romans 5:1 – Therefore, since we have been justified by faith, we have peace with God... Romans 8:1 – There is therefore now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus. Romans 8:32 – He who did not spare his own Son but gave him up for us all, how will he not also with him graciously give us all things? Galatians 3:13-14 – Christ redeemed us from the curse of the law by becoming a curse for us – for it is written, “Cursed is everyone who is hanged on a tree” – so that in Christ Jesus the blessing of Abraham might come to the Gentiles, so that we might receive the promised Spirit through faith.” Galatians 3:26 – …for in Christ Jesus you are all sons of God…

Gospel Conduct flowing from the Gospel 2 Corinthians 8:7, 9 – But as you excel in everything – in faith, in speech, in knowledge, in all earnestness, & in our love for you – see that you excel in this act of grace also. 9 …For you know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that though he was rich, yet for your sake he became poor, so that you by his poverty might become rich. Mark 10:43-45 – But whoever would be great among you must be your servant, & whoever would be first among you must be slave of all. For even the Son of Man came not to be served but to serve, & to give his life as a ransom for many.

Gospel Truths & Conduct flowing from the Gospel Hebrews 10:19-24 – 19 Therefore, brothers, since we have confidence to enter the holy places by the blood of Jesus, 20 by the new and living way that he opened for us through the curtain, that is, through his flesh, 21 and since we have a great priest over the house of God, 22 let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith, with our hearts sprinkled clean from an evil conscience and our bodies washed with pure water. 23 Let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering, for he who promised is faithful. 24 And let us consider how to stir up one another to love and good works, 25 not neglecting to meet together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another, and all the more as you see the Day drawing near.
