2 What have we learnt? The scale of the challenge – 60k LGV drivers We’ve got by through planning and compromise The shortage is recognised by all 3 parties We must keep the drivers we do have We must attract new drivers at a faster rate There is funding available but it’s complicated!

3 FTA’s commitment To continue pressing government To press insurers to rightly assess and price the insurance risks of younger LGV drivers To promote the image of the road transport and logistics industry as a ‘Great Place to Work’

4 What can the Industry do? Promote risk mitigation measures & persuade insurers to underwrite younger LGV drivers Support initiatives to improve the industry image Be an employer of choice to retain staff Creatively source and attract new drivers
