9 SYNBIOLOGY Brussels, 30 May 2006 Project Database Development of Database - -16 MIO papers in total were first downloaded - -Selection of Life Science Relevant Subjects according to several overlapping journal indices (e.g. Thomson Index) resulting in 1.5 MIO papers after 1990 - -According to pre-selected Synthetic Biology: key papers and reviews were downloaded - -Other papers cited by these key papers were downloaded - -Papers from „high level expert group“ cited authors were downloaded - -Resulted in 1,100 papers of which 400 were discarded by content gaining in preliminary 700 which are included in the database
