8. As time went by, people in the United States decided it was rather silly to honor only two of our presidents on President’s Day, when all of our presidents are heroes, and all have accomplished great things.

9. Today, President’s Day is a federal holiday that honors all our presidents, as it should. Counting our current president, Obama Barack, there have been 44 presidents of the United States.

10. FUN PRESIDENTIAL TRIVIA George Washington George Washington did not, in fact, really cut down the cherry tree and say, "I cannot tell a lie." This legend is used to teach about honor and honesty to children. He once borrowed two books from the Manhattan library, but never returned them. His father was John Adams, Sr., who was the second President of the United States. The only other father-son Presidents were George H.W. Bush, elected in 1988, and George W. Bush, elected in 2000. Adams, Jr. spoke seven different languages.

12. FUN PRESIDENTIAL TRIVIA Theodore Roosevelt Teddy Roosevelt refused to shoot bear cubs while he was hunting. Therefore, the favorite stuffed animal, teddy bear, was named for him. Roosevelt officially gave the White House its name in 1900.

13. FUN PRESIDENTIAL TRIVIA William Howard Taft William Howard Taft was so large, weighing in at 300 pounds, he got stuck in the bathtub. He had a new one installed, that was large enough to accommodate four large men. Taft started the tradition of the President throwing out the first pitch of baseball season.
