3 Social Media is An “un-controllable” environment that can be harnessed to tell the CAP Story by units and individual members.

4 Proposed CAP Social Media Policy Recognized that Social Media has changed our Communications Processes Defines “Structured” and “Un-Structured” Social Media Defines CAP’s Responsibilities Defines Member Responsibilities Defines Common Responsibilities Supports CAP Core Values

5 Proposed CAP Social Media Policy This policy recommendation and the supporting materials will hopefully encourage CAP Units to engage with Social Media and Encourage our members to tell their CAP Stories with their personal Social Media.

6 Member Discipline Policy expects members to act as per the CAP Core Values in the Social Media Environment Does not specify disciplinary actions Existing policy provides commanders with tools to deal with discipline issues Trusts the local CC to do the right thing Members need education and leadership not a heavy hand
