9 Fix the 3 In the story The Absolute True Diary of a Part-Time Indian by Sherman Alexie, the character Junior changes from being weak-willed to strong-willed. At first Junior thinks Rowdy is a better basketball player than him when he says, “I knew he’d fly into the air about five feet from the hoop. I knew he’d jump about two feet higher than I could” (1). This shows that Junior believes he won’t be able to physically jump higher than his friend. Junior changes when he says, “So I needed to jump quicker” (1). That’s when Junior changes from weak-willed to strong-willed and gains confidence.
