3 TEACHERS WEEKLY ELIGIBILITY LIST Probation (“P”) Out(“O”) Softball Program Philosophy 1.Grades come before softball. “P” or “O” = no softball 2.Failing Grade = athlete does NOT practice or play with team Extracurricular activities are a privilege!!! Classroom tenacity carries over to the competition field/court EVERY MONDAY at NOON, teachers receive “The List.”

11 TEAM PRACTICES WE practice Monday through Friday IF we are outdoors 3:15-5:45 pm IF we are indoors we are 3:00-6:00 pm WE practice Saturdays 9:00-11:30am (refer to the calendars emailed to you) 3/5, 3/12, 3/19, 3/26, 4/2, 4/9, 4/16 SPRING BREAK: 3/11, 3/17, 3/18, 3/19

12 BRING PRACTICE GEAR EVERY DAY!!! (EVEN on GAME DAYS!) Softball Glove (and a spare if you have one) Cleats or Spikes (spares if you have a pair) Tennis shoes for indoor (and outdoor running) Winter wear (hoodie, gloves, stocking cap, etc.) Indoor wear Extra socks Long sweatpants Long sleeve undergarment

13 GAME SCHEDULES 1.HOME games 3:30pm start = NO LIGHTS 2.JV/Varsity Play Simultaneously 3.JV/Varsity Play Double headers 4.EVERYONE is expected to ride bus to/from Players and Managers MISS SCHOOL 1.Plan ahead 2.TIME MANAGEMENT 3.Complete assignments ahead of time 4.Don’t rely on Advisory time 5.Rainouts 6.Postponements

15 FANS & FAMILY on GAME DAYS 1.Parents, friends, summer coaches, and fans are NOT to approach the dugout, dugout fence, field, or players during competition on game days. 2.Respect your child and her team by resisting the temptation to approach the dugout or the coaching staff. She is working, and so are the coaches. 3.Bobcats softball is just like all of the other programs (basketball, volleyball, football). No one is allowed on the bench, court, field, or allowed to talk with a player during time-outs, etc. Let’s show trust, confidence, and respect, by allowing the team, and your daughter to focus on the TEAM and the entire coaching staff.

21 PLAYING TIME There is NO GUARANTEE of PLAYING TIME no matter how old, what grade, playing experience, perceived ability, or years on the team. Work Hard, Execute, Know/Learn the Game Trust what the coaches are doing / Buy-in Show Passion for Learning, and Be a Great Teammate Play as Hard as You Can, and to the Very Best of Your Ability Question ONLY your ability, integrity, and Character Ask yourself what you have done in the off-season (individually) to elevate your game and individual softball skills. Do YOUR Part! SHOW UP!

22 Who Plays Where, and On Which Team? Players are asked or put into roles that best suits the TEAM Are there cuts? We are a “cut” sport. Based on numbers, there could be a scoring system tryout How Many Players are on a Team? Whatever number the coaching staff determines will work for our program

23 What Equaled a CHAMPIONSHIP SEASON? Took Academics Seriously Communicated in person with Teachers, Teammates, Manager, Coaches, & Parents Respected each other and everyone in our lives Were Selfless ALL had Perfect Attendance at Practices (never missed 1 practice in 4 years) Were Gamers on and off of the Field Had Collective Mental Toughness Took the Rules and Expectations of our TEAM Seriously Picked each other up HELD EACH OTHER ACCOUNTABLE ALWAYS wanted our teammates to be the best ALL attended every Saturday Practice and Spring Break Practice Were ALWAYS prepared ALWAYS remembered our equipment and uniform for practices and games Never made excuses for ANYTHING Hated to lose Made plays Put playing before partying Visualized Success Went above and beyond We weren’t going to be denied Prioritized and had Great Time Management Skills WE…
