Do You Booth? Getting Out and About

We have covered many ways of generating leads Electronically (FB ads, SEO) Presentations (both partner and consumer) Past Client (greeting cards, birthdays, customer appreciation) Direct Mail (EDDM) In keeping with our “Theme” of going Old School we are going to talk about Events (even how to “create” an event)

What do you mean “Event” – A group, club, or organization puts on an activity or gathering for people to attend. But you don’t have to wait for the Home Show to implement this strategy

Lets start with a couple of easy events – Local VA Benefits Expo – Contact the Local Veterans Affairs Office. Ask about any events they have scheduled. Offer to “sponsor” any events or meetings they have planned. Pre-pare a flyer, brochure or some type of educational material focusing on the BENEFITS veterans have in buying a home. This is something the prospect can take with them. Offer a “drawing” for a prize. Can be $100 gift certificate, a free session at the shooting range, a 1 hour massage, a spa package, half day boat rental, complete detailing for your car…..be creative but make sure it something people want. Have a simple form to fill out and drop in your bucket.

Couple things to help you be more successful First a simple Google search can get you in touch with the right people to get involved in VA events

Second don’t look like you are “winging it” Set your booth up themed for Military Heroes Use Flags, Eagles, and lots of red white and blue

Make it easy to give you their information Have some prize drawing forms (you can get these printed pretty easily – staples can print and cut)

Candy or little tchotchke’s are always fun

You can do a very similar thing for – Home and Garden Shows - Crafts Fairs – Chamber of Commerce Events – Just make sure you are keeping your booth “themed” to the people who would attend - BENEFITS

Home and Garden Shows – Use construction themed décor Talk about how Renovation loans work Have a drawing for a $100 to the Home Depot or Lowes

Craft Fairs – Another one that is good for FHA 203K Also Reverse Mortgage prospects For reverse mortgage use fun activity’s as your theme Beach, Golf, Dining with Friends – Life style Have a drawing for a certificate to a nice local restaurant

Chamber of Commerce Events – Focus on the referral partners How can You benefit THEM Maybe a “Coach” themed booth – Images of “winning” Offer to help “Coach them” on marketing ideas for their business Do a drawing for a green screen kit or $100 towards an EDDM campaign

What if you started doing this outside the box???

What if you went to – Home Depot and offered to do an “educational” booth Outdoor Grill and Kitchen company (must have a showroom) and offered to sponsor a hot dog day CostCo, or Sams and set up a booth right next to the AAA booth on a Saturday

Do you think you could generate any leads if you set up a booth on the 3 rd Saturday of the month when the Farmers Market is going on? Or is there any benefit from sponsoring the local little league or even just 1 team and then setting up an information table at the fields? Or maybe the county fair that is ALWAYS looking for more vendors. Set up between the natural dog food lady and the yard flamingo guy

The point is – Have Fun, and get out in front of people If the Goal is Face to Face – Why Not start it that way?
