2 Tasmanian Trade for 2008-2009 The results show total exports were valued at $3,489 million down $131 million on the previous year. This reduction was in the main attributable to the reduced global price for zinc Additionally a reduction in the global demand for woodchips impacted on a lesser return than the previous year. Japan is Tasmania’s largest export market with over $533 million in exports. Mainland China is the second largest export market followed by the South Korea, Hong Kong, Malaysia and the USA
