When I say time is up, we will pass our stories to another group and get a new story to continue. You can take it in a different direction or continue the thought of the previous group. Be creative. Have fun with it. But it must make sense. Try to get as many syn/sym words in as you can. Underline them when you use them. For example…

35 Now, Use Your Words Remember to use good DESCRIPTIVE detail. Let’s say the Green Group starts their story like this: One day, Julie shuffled slowly into the classroom, hanging her head and sighing in disgust. “Seriously,” she started. “You have GOT to help me.” “What’s wrong?” Ellen asked. “My mother has bought me this awful, Pepto Bismol pink synthetic fabric dress for the Valentine Gala. She insists that I wear it.” Now, she had Ellen’s sympathy.

36 The next step Then, they hand their story to the Yellow Group who must make the story make sense and use the words correctly BUT, they can turn it into a mystery or a comedy or a romance.: Ellen noticed the symptoms of 14-year-old girl about to panic. ….. HIGHLIGHT Do keep the story in the genre that you find it. HIGHLIGHT your part of the story according to your group color. So we can tell which group wrote each part. We will share them aloud at the end of class. Have fun. Be creative.
