8 Text here What has changed since 2010?
lkfjasl;kfjal;sdkfja;lsdkfj Why do we need to update the Denver Plan? New standards for teaching, learning and assessment Stronger focus on the whole child Adoption of Shared Core Values Since the Denver Plan was last updated in 2010, our vision and approach have evolved to best meet the needs of students, families and educators. The Denver Plan will be more impactful if it reflects these changes. - Colorado has implemented Common Core State Standards, which better prepare students for learning, citizenship and careers in the 21st century. - We have strengthened our focus on the whole child, including greater emphasis on character development, arts and enrichment, INSERT ADDITIONAL DETAIL HERE. - We have chosen and embraced Shared Core Values. These values, which guide all of our decisions and actions, are: Students First, Integrity, Equity, Collaboration, Accountability and Fun.

Denver Plan Update Timeline Board-led process to draft Vision, Core Beliefs and Goals 2014 Denver Plan Drafted Internal and External engagement process to receive feedback on Draft Plan 2014 Denver Plan Introduced Internal and external engagement process to receive feedback on Core Beliefs and Goals The first phase of feedback collection has two components: Externally we will be focused on core beliefs and goals Internally, in addition to core beliefs and goals, we will also be collecting input on strategies. The rationale behind the different engagement focuses is that we feel our educators are best positioned to develop our strategies, while the broader community can provide input on them during the second wave of engagement Important to note that engagement is occurring in parallel with some drafting, so there will be different elements to share at different stages along the process; for example, today we can share out high-level draft goals, but at a future point we will be able to discuss the quantified breakdown of those goals Internal engagement process to draft 3-5 Strategies January - March April-May June
