I Never Knew You 21: Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven. 22: Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works? 23: And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.

I Never Knew You 24: Therefore whosoever heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them, I will liken him unto a wise man, which built his house upon a rock: 25: And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell not: for it was founded upon a rock. 26: And every one that heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them not, shall be likened unto a foolish man, which built his house upon the sand:

I Never Knew You 27: And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell: and great was the fall of it. 28: And it came to pass, when Jesus had ended these sayings, the people were astonished at his doctrine: 29: For he taught them as one having authority, and not as the scribes.

I Never Knew You These people thought they should be saved. –2 Timothy 4:6-8 –Acts 26:9 –Proverbs 14:12 –90% today believe they are saved

I Never Knew You These lost men and women were believers. –Ephesians 2:8 –Romans 5:1 –Romans 10:9-10 –Acts 16:31 –Why weren’t these people saved?

I Never Knew You These were dedicated, working believers. –James 2:14-26 –14: What doth it profit, my brethren, though a man say he hath faith, and have not works? can faith save him? 15: If a brother or sister be naked, and destitute of daily food, 16: And one of you say unto them, Depart in peace, be ye warmed and filled; notwithstanding ye give them not those things which are needful to the body; what doth it profit? 17: Even so faith, if it hath not works, is dead, being alone. 18: Yea, a man may say, Thou hast faith, and I have works: shew me thy faith without thy works, and I will shew thee my faith by my works. 19: Thou believest that there is one God; thou doest well: the devils also believe, and tremble. 20: But wilt thou know, O vain man, that faith without works is dead? 21: Was not Abraham our father justified by works, when he had offered Isaac his son upon the altar? 22: Seest thou how faith wrought with his works, and by works was faith made perfect? 23: And the scripture was fulfilled which saith, Abraham believed God, and it was imputed unto him for righteousness: and he was called the Friend of God. 24: Ye see then how that by works a man is justified, and not by faith only.

I Never Knew You They did the works they did “in the name of the Lord” –Acts 3:6 –Acts 9:29 –Col. 3:17 –Why weren’t these people saved?

I Never Knew You These people thought they should be saved. These men and women were believers. These were dedicated, working believers. They did their work in the name of the Lord Why were they lost???

I Never Knew You Why were they lost??? They were lost because they never came into Christ where the blood could cleanse. They were never baptized for the remission of their sins.

I Never Knew You Let’s examine Ephesians 2:8-9 –2:1 quickened who were dead in sin –2:8 saved by grace through faith –2:13 made near by the blood –2:14 reconciled in one body –5:25-27 gave himself, cleanse, washing of water, without blemish

I Never Knew You Let’s examine Romans 5:1 –5:1 justified by faith –5:9 justified by His blood –5:12 death comes by sin –5:20 where sin abounded, grace more abounds –6:3 as many as are baptized into Jesus Christ –6:4 buried with him and raised to walk in newness of life

I Never Knew You Let’s examine Romans 10:9-10 –10:9-10 salvation through faith and confession –10:13 salvation to those who call on the name of the Lord –10:14 calling follows believing –10:16 obey follows believing

I Never Knew You Let’s examine Act 16:31 –16:31 believe and thou shalt be saved –16:32 heard the gospel preached –16:33 baptized into Christ

I Never Knew You Why were they lost??? They were lost because they never came into Christ where the blood could cleanse. They were never baptized for the remission of their sins.
