The Inspiration Of the Bible The Inspiration Of the Bible
3
The Claim of Inspiration “But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My name, He will teach you all things, and bring to your remembrance all things that I said to you.” John 14:26

The Claim of Inspiration “However, when He, the Spirit of truth, has come, He will guide you into all truth; for He will not speak on His own authority, but whatever He hears He will speak; and He will tell you things to come.” John 16:13
5
The Claim of Inspiration “For I neither received it from man, nor was I taught it, but it came through the revelation of Jesus Christ.” Galatians 1:12
6
The Claim of Inspiration “For this reason we also thank God without ceasing, because when you received the word of God which you heard from us, you welcomed it not as the word of men, but as it is in truth, the word of God, which also effectively works in you who believe.” 1 Thessalonians 2:13

Bible writers claimed to be speaking the word of God: –“thus saith the Lord” occurs more than 2,000 times in O.T. “Hear, O heavens and give ear, O earth! For the LORD has spoken…” (Isaiah 1:2) “Hear the word which the LORD speaks to you, O house of Israel. Thus says the LORD:…” (Jeremiah 10:1-2) “the word of the LORD came expressly to Ezekiel the priest…” (Ezekiel 1:3) The Inspiration of the Bible

Bible is verbally inspired –G–God directed men to speak His will using His words –H–He revealed the words He wanted them to speak 1 Corinthians 2:10-13 “But God has revealed them to us through His Spirit. For the Spirit searches all things, yes, the deep things of God. For what man knows the things of a man except the spirit of the man which is in him? Even so no one knows the things of God except the Spirit of God. Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the Spirit who is from God, that we might know the things that have been freely given to us by God. These things we also speak, not in words which man's wisdom teaches but which the Holy Spirit teaches, comparing spiritual things with spiritual.”

2 Samuel 23:2 “The Spirit of the LORD spoke by me, And His word was on my tongue.” Jeremiah 1:9 “Then the LORD put forth His hand and touched my mouth, and the LORD said to me: "Behold, I have put My words in your mouth.” Jeremiah 36:4 “Then Jeremiah called Baruch the son of Neriah; and Baruch wrote on a scroll of a book, at the instruction of Jeremiah, all the words of the LORD which He had spoken to him.”

The Inspiration of the Bible The process of inspiration Zech 7:12 “Yes, they made their hearts like flint, refusing to hear the law and the words which the LORD of hosts had sent by His Spirit through the former prophets. Thus great wrath came from the LORD of hosts.” God sent His word > By His Spirit > By His prophets > To His people God’s inspired scriptures are incorruptible –W–Will continue forever 1 Peter 1:22-25

The Inspiration of the Bible Scripture is the authoritative Word of God Inspiration of the Bible –I–Is supported by its unity & fulfilled prophecy Deuteronomy 18:20-22 –C–Completely equips a person to do God’s will 2 Tim 3:17 “that the man of God may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work.”
