Largest Airport Terminal ================================================ The Hong Kong International Airport passenger terminal building is 1.3 km. (0.8 miles) long and covers 550,000 sq. m. (135.9 acres). The design incorporates a Y-shaped concourse and is the world's largest single airport building. Just the baggage hall of this gargantuan building is as big as the Yankee Stadium in New York (it could hold five Boeing 747s parked wing tip to wing tip). Served by 48 aircraft parking stands with boarding gates and air bridges, the terminal has a design capacity of 45 million passengers a year, arriving on 460 flights every day. There are 3 km (1.8 miles) of moving walkways, 55,000 m ² (13.59 acres) of glass cladding and around 117,000 m ² (28.9 acres) of carpeting.

Most Densely Populated Island =================================================== The world's most densely populated island is Ap Lei Chau, off the southwest side of Hong Kong Island. Ap Lei Chau has a population of 80,000 who are living in an area measuring 1.3 km ² (0.5 miles ² ). The actual population density therefore is 60,000 per 1 km ² (160,000 per 1 mile ² ).

Longest Dancing Dragon =================================================== On February 19, 2000, a 3,048-m (10,000-ft) long Chinese dancing dragon was brought to life by 3,200 people at the Great Wall of China, near Beijing. The record was set to celebrate the Chinese year of the dragon. It took 66 people an incredible 69 days to build the dragon, and once completed, it was estimated that it would take a person two hours to walk the length of it! On the day, it needed 19 people to support the head alone. Yolanda Chiu, secretary for the "Dragon At The Great Wall" Hong Kong Committee said, "The dragon dance was a spectacular event, which exemplified the unity and solidarity of 3,200 Chinese youth worldwide." Afterwards, the head was taken back to Hong Kong to be put on display in the Sha Tin museum, whilst the body was cut into 100 sections and sent to supporters of the event.

Largest Neon Advertising Sign The largest neon advertising sign covers an area of 5,033 sq m (54,175 sq ft). It was constructed on December 18, 1999, on Tsing Yi Island, New Territories, Hong Kong, and contains over 800,000 light bulbs. ===================================================

Longest suspension road and rail bridge =================================================== The Tsing Ma Bridge in Hong Kong opened to the public in May, 1997, and has a main span of 1,377 m. (4518 ft.), making it the longest suspension bridge span for combined road and railway traffic
