Takashi Matsushita t.matsushita@imperial.ac.uk Imperial College T. Matsushita 1 Tracker Status

T. Matsushita 2 Station assembly status 13 stations assembled – working on the last station! 10 stations polished – light yield to be checked station bundling connectorising gluing polishing ========================================================= 5 done done done done 6 done done done done 7 done done done done 8 done done done done 9 done done done done 10 done done done done 11 done done done done 12 done done done done 13 done done done done 14 done done done done 15 done done done - 16 done done done - 17 done done done - 18 done done - - 19 ongoing - - -

T. Matsushita 3 Light yield measurement Read-out system is under commissioning for light yield test Encountered noise problem of AFEIIt with cassette heater control One board damaged during oscilloscope probing, replaced Found work around for the noise problem! Firmware of AFEIIt for light yield test updated Now under test to fix the final configuration for the test Trigger threshold, analysis code As soon as we are ready, move on to light yield check of 10 stations Take as much data as possible within time constraint In the mean time, individual fibres of 9 finished stations have been checked with UV led, hands and eyes. All the fibres emit yellow-green light though a small fraction of fibres emit less light (< 1%); hard to quantify by eyes. No dead channels seen by this test!

T. Matsushita 4 Electronics II VLSB boards (tracker VME memory buffer) Production on hold while Fermilab bureaucrats count the number of holes in Albert Hall. Sighhhh.. I will try to get this resolved soon, but we have lost 3 weeks. We have almost enough for the first tracker AFEIIt Boards In good shape here. Have what we need more or less. For more to be fully checked out. Cryo-systems for First Tracker are complete and characterized Cryo AFEIIt boards Not Low voltage power Not Fire-Protection

T. Matsushita 5 Electronics The Weiner power supplies have arrived (shiny!) BUT: Must define low voltage cable runs at this meeting so that cables harnesses can be made. What is the height of the Truss?

T. Matsushita 6 Fire Protection for VLPC electronics Requirement from D0 (not in writing, but I’m pretty sure) in order to get 4 more cassettes for cryo #3 and #4. D0 uses VESDA system The VESDA LaserFOCUS detector is a very early warning smoke detector designed to protect small, business-critical environments of less than 250 m 2 (2500 sq. ft.). The detector works by continually drawing air into sample holes in a pipe network. The air is filtered and passed into a detection chamber where light scattering technology detects the presence of very small amounts of smoke. Detector status information is communicated on the detector display and via relays or optional interface card
