2 The Enlightenment The Scientific Revolution sparked the Enlightenment Enlightenment thinkers in Britain, in France and throughout Europe questioned traditional authority and embraced the notion that humanity could be improved through rational change. The Enlightenment produced numerous books, essays, inventions, scientific discoveries, laws, wars and revolutions. The American and French Revolutions were directly inspired by Enlightenment ideals Learning Target: I can identify four Enlightened Thinkers who developed political thought. 3 Find your partner! This will be the person with the same animal as you! First Step: Found your partner? PURRFECT! Now: Decide who will be the reader/presenter and who will be the notetaker/writer Using reliable internet sources, research your particular Enlightened thinker and answer the questions on page 1. You should also use the primary source document as a reference. Complete step 2: Create a 2 minute presentation to share about your thinker.
