1 Writing the Body of your paper.
Career Research Paper Writing the Body of your paper.

2 Using your outline The outline helps keep your mind focused on what you need to write. Each number and everything under it, is a paragraph. Each roman numeral should be at least a sentence. Each lower case “I” should be addressed within in the sentences.

3 Outline example 1. Nature of the work I. Job Description
II. Specific Knowledge for this job i. Advancement Opportunities ii. Emerging specialties This job requires many responsibilities, such as, counting inventory, stocking shelves, carrying heavy boxes, being friendly to customers, and standing for long periods of time. The knowledge for this job is minimal. Mostly, you learn on the job and do not have to have any schooling before getting hired. Advancements in this type of work are possible if you work hard and learn quick. A specialty in this type of work would be working in only one department such as produce or the bakery.

4 Transition to the next number
At the end of each paragraph, there should be a sentence that lets the reader know what topic is coming up next. 1. Nature of the work I. Job Description II. Specific Knowledge for this job i. Advancement Opportunities ii. Emerging specialties 2. Working conditions The next topic is “Working Conditions”

The working conditions for this job are also something to consider. 1. Nature of the work I. Job Description II. Specific Knowledge for this job i. Advancement Opportunities ii. Emerging specialties 2. Working conditions After you end your transition sentence, you can go on to the next paragraph and explain the types of conditions that you work in for this type of job.

6 Follow Your Outline Your outline guides you through the writing. If you follow it, you will stay on topic and not end up talking about how your job went last night when you are supposed to be talking about the job you want in the future.
