8. 3G Connections The yacht can install a 3G router or firewall to alternative internet connections when close to land or/and in the harbor The router will bring the internet access to the yacht providing WiFi In that case the router or firewall will act as our gateway –Such routers can e.g. be bought from Huawei or ZyXELZyXEL Conceptual: The router or firewall is set-up to use 3G and, if applicable, WiFi as the primary route and Inmarsat as the fallback (secondary route) If using a firewall, the user can additionally design the internet access to become user-dependent with policies and restrictions –E.g. the secondary route can be set-up to have restrictions on time of access, which users, download services, content filtering, etc Internet usage can -with this solution- be controlled –Minimizing risks for possible over-usage (or even miss-usage with content filtering and application patrol functions)
