1 Vocabulary and Concept Development EDI
Standard: 1.4 Students will identify common roots and affixes derived from Greek and Latin and use this knowledge to analyze the meaning of complex words (e.g., international). Teacher reads the standard as students repeat.

3 Activating Prior Knowledge
Have you heard the word incorrect? The word incorrect has the prefix in-. Can you see the prefix semi- in semiprivate? What does semiprivate mean? A and B share their thoughts. Teacher calls on 2-3 non-volunteers to share their thoughts.
