2 A is for Arrowhead Park 1. It is a park you can camp, go fishing, go boating, hiking, go to the playground. 2. It is located in Nelda, Iowa.

3 B is forButter cow 1. The butter cow starts with wood, metal, wire and steel mesh frame made of pure cream Iowa butter. 3.The butter cow is always at the Iowa State Fair. 2.It is made out of butter. It is about 5-1/2-ft high and 8-ft long.

4 C is forcorn 1.Corn is Iowa’s greatest resource. 2.Corn is used to make lots of things like lube, gas, necklace and food.

5 D is for Doge House 1.The Doge House is a museum you can came and see. It is in Council Bluffs’ Iowa. 2.In 1869, Dodge built his house on 605 Third Street, it has fourteen-room and three-story high. 3.Gen.Grenville M. Dodge has been called “a famous rail road builder”.

6 E is for Eastern Gold finch 1.The Eastern Gold finch is Iowa’s state bird and was adopted in 1933. 2.The Eastern Gold finch is commonly found in Iowa and stays all year round.

7 F is forField of dreams 1.In 1988, Hollywood built a baseball diamond for ghost players in an obscure Iowa cornfield. 2.It is located in Dyersville, Iowa

8 G is forgeode 1.The geode is Iowa’s state rock. 2.Iowa is known world wide because of the large number of rare geodes found in the state.

9 H is forHot Air Balloon 1.The first balloon flight was on January 9, 1793. 3.Modern hot air ballooning was born on October 22, 1960 when Paul E. Yost piloted the maiden flight of a balloon. 2.The National Balloon Museum is in Indianola, Iowa

14 M is forMid America Center 1.The Mid America Center is located in Council Bluff, Iowa just five minutes from downtown Omaha, Nebraska. 2.The Mid America Center is for ice hokey and arena football and many other things. 3.It opened on October 18,2002

15 N is forNeola 1.Neola is a city in Pottawattamie County in the Omaha- Council Bluffs meyro area. 2.The word “ Neola” was given to the town by the Pottawattamie Indians.

16 O is foroak tree 1.The oak tree is Iowa’s state tree. 2.Iowa designated the oak as the official state in 1961.

17 P is for Pedestrian Bridge 1.The construction began in Fall 2006. 2.The bridge officially opened September 28, 2008- two months ahead of schedule!!! 3.It is found between Council Bluffs, Iowa and Omaha, Nebraska.

18 Q is for Quaker Oats factory [ Cedar Rapids ] 1.The Quaker Oats factory is located in Cedar Rapids 2.Quaker Oats was founded in 1877. 3.Quaker Oats make Old Fashioned oats, Instant oatmeal, chewy granola.

19 R is forRed Oak 1.Red Oak is a city located along the East Nishnobotna River. 2.Red Oak is located in Montgomery County, Iowa.

20 S is forSquirrel Cage Jail 1.It was built in 1885 and finished in 1888. 2.The building was used as a jail until 1969. 3.Now it is a museum.

21 T is for Train Museum 2.The Union Pacific Railroad Museum is in Council Bluff, Iowa, houses one of the oldest corporate collections in the nation. 1.It includes artifacts, photographs, and documents.

22 U is for Underwood 1.Underwood is located in Norwalk Township. 2.The first school was built in 1863 and soon more homes were built near the school and saw mill. 3.It became know as Downsville. A post office was established there.

23 V is for Villisca axe murder house 1.A weather- beaten sign hanging from the decrepit from porch warns rather than welcomes- It is the “ Murder House”. 2.The victims are Josiah B. Moore, Sarah Montgomery [Moore], Herman, Katherine, Boyd, Paul, Lena Stillinger and, Ina Stillinger 3.Almost 97 years ago 6 kids and 2 adults were murdered in their bed. And yet, the murders remained unsloved, the murder unpunished.

24 W is for Wild Rose 1.The wild rose is Iowa’s state flower. 2.The Iowa Legislature designated the wild rose as the official state flower in 1897.

25 X is for Xavier High School 1.Xavier High school in Cedar Rapids, Iowa is sixth largest and only catholic high school in Cedar Rapids area. Established in 1998. 2.The school colors are navy blue and silver.

26 Y is forYucca plant 1.Its 40-50 species are notable for their rosettes of evergreen, tough, sword- shaped leaves and large terminal panicles of white or whitish flowers. 2.Many species of yucca also bear edible parts in cluding fruits, seeds, flower, flowering stems.

27 Z is forzoo 1.Blank Park zoo is a zoo on the south side of Des Moines, Iowa near Fort Des Moines. 2.It officially opened on May 8, 1966
