Choose a topic you know something about. Choose a topic you are interested in. Choose a topic you have strong opinions about. Copying permitted

5 What is a persuasive letter?
a letter meant for a specific audience tries to convince the reader to do something has a date, greeting, body, closing, and signature Copying permitted

6 What are the parts of a persuasive letter?

8 Invitation to Read Read the following persuasive letter.
Find the three reasons for the writer’s opinion. Do you agree or disagree with the opinion? Copying permitted

9 Brush Every Night You should brush you teeth every night before bed. Brushing removes food from your teeth. It keeps them clean and healthy. If you don’t brush enough, you could get cavities. Brushing also keeps you from getting bad breath. Brushing once a day only does half the job. You need to brush every morning and every night. Copying permitted

10 Invitation to Write Think about the question of soda machines in the school cafeteria. Do you think they should be allowed? Write a persuasive letter to your principal persuading him or her to add or remove soda machines. Be sure to state and support the reasons for your opinion. Copying permitted
