In disadvantaged agricultural areas (mountains, low soil quality, often Natura 2000-sites): - agree to conservation-oriented farming practices to conserve habitats which have been created by extensive land use - to counteract cessation of agricultural use (e.g. in mountain meadows). The programme has two main goals:
