3 Project Goal Provide CFHC with detailed summaries of the opinions of their teachers, students, and parents about the upcoming educational reform and suggestions on how best to address any problems

5 Background Secondary School Education Reform – Combining HKCEE and HKALE – Restructuring of year system – Increase in teacher training in preparation for SBA – Increase in course options for students – Less memorization based education In the last 10 years there have been multiple attempts at reform, this is the first full transformation

18 Suggestions Teacher Awareness – Provide information from the government to teachers immediately – Discuss reform in bi-annual open forum coming up in March – Conduct meetings with teacher representatives (non-department heads) to discuss changes to CFHC

19 Suggestions Student Awareness – Post information on CFHC website – Posters and “Get to know the reform day” – Student union organized speakers and forums for getting information

20 Suggestions Parent Awareness – Pamphlets for students to bring home and share with parents – Parents’ Day or Open House – Parents can also benefit from Website information

21 Suggestions Assessment Methods – Increase of continuous assessment Continuous assessment at CFHC is already very high but it is possible to raise in some classes – Online activities and tests Further Implementation of WebTL Online testing: Immediate performance feedback to students
