Physical Geography Made up of mostly underwater mountains and volcanoes -which is somewhat similar to Hawaii 20% of land is made of coastal plains (flat land) -which left scarce farming land for farmers, since it’s nearly impossible to grow crops on a mountain side.

Effects of Location Homes located near sea -which meant that their diet consisted of mostly sea food. Separated from Asia -and Asia's belief’s, rules, and laws. Which meant that the Japanese were free to: Create own culture: Religion, Social Structure, and Society

Influences of Japan New Japanese culture was influenced by short distances of these countries: Korea ~ 100 miles from Japan China ~ 400 miles from Japan
