7 Grading Official Progress Reports sent home with student. Parent signature required. Report Cards sent home in the mail. Points are based on:  Completion of assignments (class work, homework)  Projects, quizzes, and tests. Grades are posted online (ESPRI) and updated every week. Our Grading Scale 90-100% = A 80-89% = B 70-79% = C 60-69% = D Below 60% = F

12 6 th Grade Glencoe Social Studies Curriculum Ancient Civilizations  Mesopotamia, Egypt, Israel, China, India, Mesoamerica, Greece, and Rome.  Directed reading, note taking, and discussion of each chapter in class. Assessment  Weekly sectional quizzes.  Study guide/ Chapter Tests.  Essay/ Application Test  Graphic organizer tool, collaborate and review essays, and rubric given to assist them in studying.  Projects assigned for each chapter.

13 P.A.C.K (Personally Achieving Character & Knowledge) Monday- Thursday: Language Arts/ Math  Enrichment, intervention, reinforcement, and enhancement of curriculum and standards.  Homogeneous groupings Friday:  Computer Lab  Technology, Digital Media, and Animal Watch  Writing activities  Classroom projects

14 Programs Renaissance  Students are rewarded for their hard work and academic growth. 16 Thank you for coming!!! Dear Parents, Welcome to our 6th grade classroom! We believe that what occurs here will impact your child’s future. Therefore…our time here will be extremely well spent. Your child may come home exhausted at times from all of the thinking required. We will make each class count! We’re sure we’ll have a fantastic group of young people in this class.
