23 Addressing Disparities Babies born to black women in the US are more than 1 ½ times as likely to be born too early compared to babies born to white women. More than 1 in 6 black infants are born premature compared to 1 in 9 for all babies. In 2011 in the US, the preterm birth rate for black infants was 16.8 percent, compared to the national average of 11.7 percent.

29 How to Register 1.Visit Marchforbabies.org/phibetasigma 2.Are you a returning walker? Just click the log in button on the left to reactivate your profile. 3.Are you a new walker – Join Your Team! Click on your state, Click on your team, Create your personal profile. 4.Is your Team not listed? If you don’t see your chapter’s team, enter in your team name at the bottom of the page where it says “Enter as much as you know and click "Continue". Use the following name “Phi Beta Sigma – your chapter name”. You must enter in your entire team name here and it is important to first identify as Phi Beta Sigma, then your chapter name. Enter your Zip code and click “Find Events”. Click on the March for Babies Site nearest you and Create your personal profile. 5.Create your personal fundraising page!
