6 Outstanding 5.2 Quality of Support Behavior is managed well. Pastoral team of Key Stage Leaders, Head of Extended Learning and Counsellors, provide individualised programmes to support students who require it Behavioural charts Visual timetables Additional monitoring and action including attendance and punctuality

7 Outstanding 5.2 Quality of support Students with special needs are admitted into the school and, through very effective arrangements, make exceptional progress. ‘The Extended Learning Department provided a very high quality of support to students with educational needs, English as an additional language and those identified as being gifted and requiring additional challenge.’ Quickly identified (CAT, individual supporting assessments, outside agency reports) Monitor or place on the SEN, EAL or G&T register depending on results Modified teaching, differentiation in the classroom, personalised learning outside the classroom (personalised reading programmes, writing, number, motor, phonics etc.) Outside agency liaison, meetings, student programmes Speech and Language and Occupational Therapy

9 Outstanding Excellent communication between parents, student and staff (IEP meetings, target setting day, open door policy) Every SEN, EAL student receives a recommendation sheet, giving up to date advice on strategies they require to support them as a learner ‘IEPs were agreed upon with parents and students. These plans contained very appropriate learning targets’ IEPs are written for each child, with class teacher, subject teachers, support staff, parent and student involvement, IEP books to monitor progress

10 Outstanding Provision Every year group in Primary has a dedicated Learning Support Assistant who works with SEN students A team of 4 part time EAL Support Assistants work across the whole School A team of 5 part time Learning Support Assistants work across the Secondary School Facilities are modified where required computer work station areas, ramps etc.

11 Outstanding Head of Extended Learning Teaches Ensures SEN, EAL and G&T school policy is followed Facilitates and chairs weekly meetings with EAL team, LSA teams, ILSA team and Counsellor team. Sits on both Primary and Secondary Leadership teams Co-ordinates the provision and monitors the staff, overseas the timetables and ensures support is according to need Monitors pupils achievements and progress, (CEM, classroom assessments, observations, discussions with staff), provides additional interventions where required

12 Outstanding Head of Extended Learning Ensure accommodations are made for examination and individual support Ensures IEPs are monitored and written Liaises with outside agencies
