Yorkie bar advert!

Research One of the research methods that we used was survey monkey. We created a series of questions to ask people to find out more information on our chosen product. This graph shows us our target audience for the advert. Another way we found out about are target audience was with a focus group and we told them are 3 idea and which one they preferred and feedback on the preferred idea. We also looked at old Yorkie adverts on YouTube to try and keep the originality and meaning to a Yorkie bar advert. One of the questions we asked was- This will help us with our audience. https://www.surveymonkey.com

Primary and secondary data collected Primary data- when collected our primary data we used a website called survey monkey which allowed us to create our own survey in which we could add In the questions that needed answering. Secondary data- the only secondary source we used was YouTube to find out what the older advert for Yorkie were like as we tried to stick with originality. Around 90% of the people that we asked were aged 17-21 said that they would buy a chocolate bar when they go shopping. We found that the best time to show the advert on TV is lunch times on mainly Saturday, as our survey results show that people aged 17-21 years old are at home at lunch time.

Idea 1-brief synopsis The first idea for an advert was to have a woman In a gym with a load of men. All the men were eating Yorkie bars and she did not. While the mission impossible tune is on, she made her way through different obstacles to reach the Yorkie bar they are all eating. She finally gets to the Yorkie bar but one of the men catch her. The final shot is the pack shot of the product and the slogan.

Idea 2-brief synopsis The second idea we had was a woman gets out of bed, walks down stairs and into the kitchen. She opens the fridge to see a glowing Yorkie bar there. (glow from the fridge). She takes the bar out of the fridge and slowly closes the door with her eyes still fixed on the bar. But, as she closes the fridge, where the door of the fridge was, is now the man who owns the Yorkie bar, giving her a evil look. Then the screen goes black and the pack shot of the product and the slogan.

Idea 3- synopsis Late at night, a woman walks down the stairs, through the kitchen a stands in front of the fridge. She opens the fridge to see a Yorkie bar sitting there. She pick it up, rips open the wrapper and slowly brings it to her mouth. Just as it enters her mouth, the shot changes to a man in bed who has woke up from a nightmare. He wakes up in a cold sweat, gets out out of bed and walks down stairs. He enters the kitchen, opens the fridge and to his surprise, the Yorkie bar has gone. With confusion on his face, he slowly closes the fridge and a light comes on from behind him. He turns slowly to see the woman sitting in an arm chair with the Yorkie bar In her hand. The man give the woman an evil look as she takes a bite. The screen goes black and then a pack shot of the product and slogan to finish.

Why is this are best idea? We decided that idea 3 was the best choice for our advert and for the audience we are targeting. It is unique, clever and sticks to the slogan ‘its not for girls’. We thought that this was our best idea because we thought that this could actually be a advert for Yorkie.

Conclusion In conclusion to all the research we have done, and the ideas we had come up with, we have decided to do idea 3. we believe that this is best for our target audience and sticking to the traditional theme and USP of “its not for girls” Our advert will be effective to the target audience because of the comical and serious side to the advert which will appeal to our target audience.
