4. Definition of College col·lege (2 syllables) noun, often attributive \ˈkä-lij\: a school in the U.S. that you go to after high school : a school that offers courses leading to a degree in a specified subject (A diploma is the paper award for earning your degree.)

5. Colleges vs. Universities Originally was the difference between a 1-4 year school (college) and 4-8 year school (university). The terms are now interchangeable and simply mean a school after high school for higher education and degree granting.

8. To Reinforce that Vocabulary… Each student will be given a word search. Each student that completes a word search correctly will be entered into a gift certificate drawing by the Guidance Department.

9. Now Let’s Play a Game!! 10. Selecting the BEST College FOR YOU! Teachers will now present different colleges to you, you will then select the school that fits you best, and apply to it.
