6 SOME TIPS TO REDUCE TEETH AND GUM DISEASE  Brush at least twice a day for two minutes  Use dental floss to clean in between your teeth once a day  Avoid smoking  Pay special attention to oral hygiene  Limit acidic drinks like soft drinks, cordials and fruit juices.  Limit sugary foods. Bacteria in dental plaque change sugars into acids  Avoid using your teeth for anything other than chewing food. If you use them to crack nuts.  Use fluoridated toothpaste
