2 Why have community events? Bring community together Promote community spirit Make Elderpark a better place to live Helps staff build up a rapport with tenant Strengthen partnership working with other agencies Promote the Association – increase demand on waiting list

5 Fun Day 2008 Not even the rain could dampen the spirits of those who attended. People danced in the street to the sound of classics from the 60's through to the 90's For those sheltering from the rain there was tea, coffee, cakes and lunch bags generously provided by ASDA at Govan. Bingo was a big hit, hosted by the smooth talking Maintenance Officer Derek

6 Fun Day 2009 The Day of Fun included magicians, face painters, hair-braiders, dance workshop, bouncy castle, birds of prey, fire engine, arts and crafts, wild-life survival, mini beasts and rain forest displays.

7 Outcomes Prior to 2010 only one event each year Survey results  Greater demand for more community events  Better use of Community Centre  Suggestions for future events 2010 Budget increase to £3000 for community events
