u Heinrich Himmler born in Munich, Bavaria, on Oct. 7, 1900. u Himmler joined the army in 1917 as an officer cadet. u Later he studied agriculture and economics.

He was acheduled stand trial with the other German leaders as a major war criminal, but committed suicide shortly after his arrest.

Himmler was squeamish, and one occasion he almost fainted at the spectacle of a hundred Jews, including woman, being shot to death on the Russian front. This helped lead to the introduction of poison gas as ´´a more humane means´´ of execution´´. Himmler gained jurisdiction over the courts and the civil service as well. He used these powers to exploit Jews ans Slavs as as salve labores, to gas millions of Jews, and to institute pseudo-medical experiments on “asocial individuals” (Jews, Gypsies, and criminals), to determine their resistance to extremes of cold and decompression. The killing of the Jews represented for Himmler the fulfillment of a mission. The “Final Solution” was the means to achieve the racial supremacy of the “Aryan” and purify the world contamination by subhumans.

By the time of the invasion of the Soviet Union in 1941, Himmler controlled all the organs of police and intelligence power, and through the SS he dominated the concentration and extermination camps in Poland.
