InfoScope InfoScope™ is a searchable database of white papers presented at various SCTE events.

Certification Program SCTE certifications enable you, as an individual, to demonstrate proficiency of technical knowledge that is relevant to your career. Our certifications also serve to provide employers with an industry-recognized benchmark for technical expertise that may be incorporated into the hiring, promotion and other human resource management processes.

SCTE/JONESNCTI We try not to duplicate what the MSO are doing! In this arena we are the certifying partner unless requested by the MSO or its agents to be the actual trainer. SCTE customizes certification programs under contract with MSO’S to meet MSO certifying requirements.

Certification Programs SCTE CERTIFICATION RELATED AREA OF TECHNICAL EXPERTISE Broadband Premises Specialist (BPS)Customer Premises Endorsements: Video, Voice, Data Broadband Distribution Specialist (BDS)Distribution network Broadband Transport Specialist (BTS)Transport Network Broadband TelecomCenter Specialist (BTCS)Telecommunications center (headend) Endorsements: Video, Voice, Data Broadband Communications Technician (BCT)Installation and maintenance of all aspects of the broadband network Broadband Communications Engineer (BCE)Technology behind all aspects of the broadband network

NEW Certification Digital Video Engineering Professional (completed) IP Engineering Professional (June 07)  VoIP Engineering Professional (Working group)  Network Transport Engineering Professional (Working Group) *Note that titles are subject to change as each is developed and rolled out. New certifications are targeted at network operations and engineering personnel. Training support for these programs is expected to be tied in with the SCTE Cable College program. SCTE may develop additional support programs as part of the ongoing professional development curriculum through seminars and future educational platforms.

SCTE Cable College at Rochester Institute of Technology (RIT) In June 2006, extending its professional development mission into the higher education arena, the Society of Cable Telecommunications Engineers (SCTE) announced the formation of the SCTE Cable College at RIT. SCTE Cable College will deliver a comprehensive cable-centric educational program for telecom technicians and engineers in the cable industry. This program will be delivered through courses and degree programs offered by the Electrical, Computer and Telecommunications Engineering department and the Center for Multidisciplinary Studies and is a partnership with The Cable College and RIT.
