2 A VERY BRIEF HISTORY OF THE ORANGE COUNTY SUSTAINABILITY COLLABORATIVE In 2007, a small group of Orange County sustainability leaders from the private sector, local government and academia agreed that a new forum was needed to make sustainability a practical reality in Orange County. Since then, the organization has held its first Leadership Dialogue event at the University of California Irvine, incorporated, and is working to achieve not-for-profit status in 2012. In this time, OCSC has also reached out to local businesses, universities, government agencies, communities, and not-for-profit organizations to join forces in achieving a “Greener Orange”.
