3 What Is Health & Physical Education? Physical activity is any body movement that works your muscles and requires more energy than resting. The goal of PE at OLGC is to set the foundation to beginning and continuing to live a active lifestyle. Health education teaches about physical, mental, emotional and social health. It motivates students to improve and maintain their health, prevent disease, and reduce risky behaviors. 8 Warm Up Why warm up? Warming up may help prepare your body for aerobic activity. A warm up gradually revs up your cardiovascular system, increases blood flow to your muscles and raises your body temperature. Warming up may also help reduce muscle soreness and lessen your risk of injury.

9 Warm Up - Routine Students will enter the gymnasium and begin walking around the cones. When the music begins playing, students will begin jogging/running until the music is turned off. * Shoe laces should be tied tight, prior to the music being played!

10 Attendance Following the Warm Up, students will go directly to their attendance spots a and take a seat. During this time, I will call out the name of each student.
