Vicon Overview Established 1967 – European Headquarters in Fareham, Hampshire – Territory coverage “EMEA” – Sales/Technical Support – System design – Warranties and Repair facility

Agenda Brief overview of Vicon Programming and ViconNet set-up ViconNet – Basic Controls – Playback – Reports – Archiving

Agenda VMDC ( Virtual Matrix Display Controller) – Basic Control – Playback – Reports

Ethernet Cabling

UTP/Coaxial Cabling CE-4US1TPC – 4-Port Ethernet switch with UTP/Twisted Copper and Coaxial Cable Extender – Extends Ethernet distance: Up to 5,000 ft (1524 metres) over Coax Up to 3,000 ft (914 metres) over standard UTP Can be powered using 12 VDC 24 VAC or PoE AF/AT Power sources. Supports bandwidth requirements of mega-pixel and HD cameras Uses selectable data rate for maximum bandwidth and transmission distance

High-Power PoE Mid-Span Power Injectors CE-(X) IPS – 8 or 16 Ports of IEEE 802.3 and IEEE 802.3 PoE for 10/100/1000 Base-T networks. – Delivers up to 37 Watts per port simultaneously on all ports, No Power management required. Automatically senses the powered device (PD) power class. LED’s Indicate power on each port. Provides high data and high power for long distance, Ideal for mega-pixel cameras. Easy set up with Windows GUI with default plug and play option. No IP address programming or other network setup required.

Ethernet-over coax Extender with Pass- Through PoE Media Converters CE-(X) Coax – Transmits individual Ethernet data channels with Pass-Through PoE over standard coax cable: Extends Ethernet up to 5,000 ft (1524 metres) over coax. High data rate, ideal for high bandwidth requirements of mega-pixel cameras, multiple IP camera systems, and cameras requiring jumbo frame transmission. Symmetric Bandwidth provides upload and download with virtually zero packet loss over useable distance User-selectable data rate for maximum bandwidth and transmission distance utilisation

Operation via GUI

Site List, Site Maps and Groups Site List The site list give the operation an indication what is available for selection onto his operator page. The icon denotes if it is a fixed camera or a PTZ camera. If a red symbol appears next to the icon it denotes that the camera is not available Site Maps ViconNet allows for the addition of site maps that will give the operator a visual indication of camera location. Maps can be multilayer, so that the operator can drill down to obtain greater detail of the site. Cameras that are available for selection appear blue, with cameras that have been selected would change to green. The cameras will display on the GUI in the segment that has been selected. Group ViconNet allows for logical groups to be set-up, therefore giving the operator improved indication of the site. Eg Warehouse Cameras, Car Park Cameras, Building 1.

Site List Will show all cameras available on the systems Site Maps Will allow you to call up the maps Site Groups Will allow you to call up the groups that have been set up on the system

Display Controls Display Controls. The GUI offers the operator to select the amount of images that are required for view. These are single view, quad, 6 images, 9 images, 16 images and full screen of selected display. PTZ (Pan Tilt and Zoom) Controls Cameras that have been set-up as PTZ will appear in the list/group or map with a PTZ icon. On selection an indicator will be overlaid on the video image allowing all the cameras functionality. A keypad emulator will also appear on the GUI to offer further functions such as pre-set call up, auto-pan and auxiliary functions.

Display Controls Will allow you to view up to 16 cameras Single Quad 6 images 9 images 16 images PTZ (Pan Tilt & Zoom) This if available will allow full manual control of the cameras and setting and recall of pre-sets

PTZ Control Keypad Emulator allow you to set and recall pre-sets Controls Icons Will allow you via the mouse to control the movement of the camera Controls Icons Will allow you via the mouse to control the movement of the camera

Quick Playback This option is carried out on the main GUI screen when you are viewing a live image. With the mouse and hovering the curser over the image, if you use the right click button. You will be given the option of start quick playback from. You will be given seven options:- 10 seconds, 30 seconds, 1 minute, 2 minutes, 5 minutes, 10 minutes and 30 minutes. On the selection the recorded image will appear to the right or left of the live image. The playback function keys will now be made available to you. These will be at the bottom of the screen. This will give total control of the playback in both direction and at multiple speeds.

Quick Playback After selecting a camera that is on screen Right Click And select playback by time Quick Playback After selecting a camera that is on screen. Right Click. And select playback by time The playback will be shown next to the live image

Playback Playback Select (explanation of pink page) & Playback Selection area (explanation on blue bars) By using the method in the previous sections. You can choose the cameras that you need to playback. These now will appear as blue lines, indicating the recorded images. The more that you view in the more detail is given. You will note that the blue line start to show highs and lows. This is a visual indication of activity in front of the camera. Highs represent high activity and lows indicated reduced activity.

After Playback has been selected. Select the camera/s required A blue bar will appear indicating recordings (Last day) last 24 hours Last 3 days, Last week & All

After Playback has been selected. Select the camera/s required A blue bar will appear indicating recordings (Left)start of search (Right) end of search Start on playback indicator

Frame video codec – H.264 GOV- Length

Museum Search Museum Search (single camera search) This search method is limited to one camera at a time. Once you have selected the camera and the time period that you need to search within. Using the mouse and the left mouse key. Left click and drag the mouse to select the period. Then press the Museum Search button at the bottom of the GUI. The screen will change giving you a snap shot of the camera of interest. Using the tool box palette you can highlight the area of interest. The press the List + Picture button in the All Detections area, and the search will start. If movement is detected you will see the files being created in the central boxed area. This will list time of movement, which you can now use to do a more in depth search. Note Museum search is not available at this time on all IP cameras

Museum Search Select the camera and time period Highlight the time Between start and end of search (Light Blue Area) Press Museum search button

Use the toolbox to draw the area of interest Use the toolbox to draw the area of interest. Select the number of boxes to base the movement

VMDC ( Virtual Matrix Display Controller) – Basic Control – Playback – Reports

VMDC Log In Usernameadmin No password

VMDC You will see that the site list, Groups and Maps are the same a what you have on ViconNet. The new button give you access to storeage

Monitor Adjustment You are able to select the amount of video segments for each monitor, up to a 64 way split

Monitor Adjustment Selection can be changed at any time to suit your requirements The options available are single, quad, 9 way, 16 way, 25 way, 36 way and 64 way displays, when you have chosen the display layout you can then add you devices to monitors.

Macros Using the Macro editor Your able to set up a scenario that you require

Macros When saved this will be display in the centre box if you require more devices on the monitor e.g. in a quad layout select the macro created (in the box) and add device then select the second device and in monitor layout select the next quadrant continue this until all quadrants are filled as above once this has been completed save the macro setup. Otherwise by pressing the Display button each time this will add another step and will sequence through the devices at the duration selected in the macro setup

Turning a Macros to run Once the macro has been created and saved close macro editor and select schedule for macros. Now add a schedule and adjust as required to run and save, as soon as this is saved the macro will start to run.
