5 Construction of a X-T Graph Height(x) /m Time(t) /s 0 When the position of the ball is recorded, a X-T graph is formed. X denotes displacement (height ). T denotes time taken.

9 Velocity and v-t graph Velocity / ms -1 Time / s 0 The ball is moving upward, the velocity is positive. The ball is moving downwards and the velocity become negative The ball reaches the highest point, the instantaneous velocity is zero.

10 Speed and v-t graph Velocity / ms -1 Time / s 0 The speed of the ball is reducing gradually. It is decelerating. The speed of the ball is increasing gradually. It is accelerating. The speed of the ball is zero. It is temporary at rest.
